MATERIALS
The wood components for the Tool Chest - includes parts for the lid panel and frame, sides, bottom panels, base skirt and the top skirt - are provided by the school as a kit for each participant. The parts will be milled to finished size and ready for joinery.
The Tool Chests are offered in two sizes in this class. One is the full size, the other is the "traveling size" for those who don't have the space for a full chest but want to hold all the tools. The smaller one is basically the same with some shrinkage.
The original is approximatly 38" long 22" deep and 25" high
Traveling size is approximatly 38" long, 18" deep and 14" high
Tools required:
* Smoothing plane
* Marking gauge or cutting gauge
* Marking knife
* Dividers
* Try square
* Sliding bevel
* Dovetail saw or dozuki
* Chisels
* Mallet
* Rabbeting plane or a large shoulder plane
* Hammer
* Coping saw, fret saw or small bowsaw
Optional tools:
* Jointer plane
* Block plane
* Router plane
A fully catered lunch is served every day and drinks and snacks are provided all day. Please let us know in advance of any special dietary needs. It is a good idea to make your lodging reservations well in advance.
